We finally made it back to Disneyland for the first time since summer started. Every time we head back after school is in session I always feel like it's a signal that Autumn is starting. And each year I am quickly reminded that I live in Southern California and Autumn is a long way off if it ever even arrives. We sweated our bottoms off and consumed crazy amounts of water but we had a blast and it was great to be back.
The following day my baby started Pre-School. What a day. What a week, for that matter. Emotions were running high for everyone and I am very relieved that we made it and the weekend is here.
My children insisted on doing Superhero poses for the first day so I just went with it. Brygit was all about it and she had no clue that this day wasn't exactly about her. When we arrived at Liam's school she played on the playground with her brother and then sang along with a couple songs before we left. She pointed to the empty car seat next to her as we drove away and it truly did feel like we were forgetting something important.
All went well. Liam never shed a tear and relief that he was actually going for this whole "Pre-School" thing outweighed my depression over the loss of his babyhood. It helps that his teacher is seriously amazing. Like, a gift from God. Because, seriously, who really wants that job? It is definitely not my calling but I'm so thankful that it's hers. She has unending energy and enthusiasm and she knows just how to make all twelve kids in her class feel special. Liam adores her and he is already learning a ton. Not bad for a first week.
