Berries and Goats

In case you haven't noticed, I'm all about tradition. The kids and I have gone berry picking in Oak Glen every year since I was pregnant with Brygit. Sometimes Paul is able to come with us and sometimes he isn't but I always love venturing up the mountain in the heat to get a few fresh strawberries. This time around we were warned that the crop was pretty much done but we went out anyway. As it turns out, they were right.

The kids flocked to the goats and sheep and fed them a few pieces of hay through the fence before we went into the strawberry patch. We sifted through the entire crop while Brygit complained about being thirsty and her pinky finger hurting for some reason. We got a few baby berries then went into the spiky blackberry area where the birds were eating all the good berries and I got bit by a horse fly before heading back to the goats.

The goats proved to be the highlight of the trip this year. Well, them and the chocolate caramel apples we came home with.

It's Summer!!

Summer is officially here for our family! Partly because it's HOT and we have already been running through sprinklers and swimming in pools and partly because...

This little guy is a Kindergarten graduate! We spent our morning watching him receive his promotion certificate and saying our goodbyes to friends and teachers and maybe a little bit of crying on my part. We celebrated with pizza and family and now summer is officially here!

Karate Kid

Halfway through T Ball season, Liam got a little bored and he started talking about what he wanted to do next. Of course, I made him stick with T Ball until the end and then we started talking about this Karate class he wanted to take. Now, other than watching The Karate Kid about a million times as a child, I have zero experience in the field of martial arts. I think I may be learning more than Liam is. I signed him up and he has been going for 2 weeks now. He loves it and he never wants the class to be over. I wouldn't be honest if I didn't mention that it's a little weird to me. All the bowing and whatnot. But, like I said, I had never even been inside a dojo before. Liam is having a great time and learning a lot and that's all that matters to me.

Meanwhile, Brygit is still taking Tap and Ballet and has her June recital in a couple of weeks. She still gets incredibly excited about going to class and handles the whole hour really well.

I honestly can't believe that my little babies are taking Karate and prepping for dance recitals. I won't even mention the fact that Liam graduates from Kindergarten in two days. The tears just might start flowing.
