I woke up at 6am to the sound of the garage door closing as Paul left for work. I knew Liam would be up in the next few minutes so I headed downstairs to enjoy a cup of coffee alone. I sat on the couch and sipped my coffee as I checked my email on my phone. I started to hear some rustling that turned into whimpering coming from Brygit's monitor so I put my cup down and headed back to my room to nurse and pray (hard) that she goes back to sleep. You don't want to know what she acts like when she wakes up before 8. About 45 seconds later, Liam walked into the room. I whispered to him to go downstairs and wait for me. He whispered back, "Can I play Batman Lego on the iPad?" I told him he could then I went back to my praying/ nursing. She finally rolled off of me and went back to sleep. I tip toed out of the room gently closing the door behind me and went downstairs to greet Liam. I gave him his cup of milk and helped him kill a few goons then I put my cup of coffee in the microwave. As I pulled it back out, I heard more whimpering on the monitor. I let out a deep growling sigh then I left my cup on the counter and headed back up for more nursing/ praying. This time didnt take as long and I was able to go back to my coffee, share a bowl of Cheerios with Liam and defeat the Joker by 7:45 when the whimpering resumed and ended with a fussy baby being awake.
Mornings are the hardest part of my day. Running around the house before my brain can function, wearing pajamas and fingerprint smudged glasses from 2 prescriptions ago with my hair in a mess around my face and yesterday's mascara under my eyes.
It's all uphill from there, really. Once everyone is fed and dressed my day gets significantly easier. Until bedtime, that is. The second hardest part of my day.
