Christmas Shenanigans

I haven't been good at blogging the past few months but I just can't pass up posting about Christmas. We started out the month by making a giant gingerbread man with a unibrow.

A few days later we made our annual sugar cookies.

And a few days after that, we decorated a gingerbread house together.

We made a trip to Knott's Berry Farm and rode a bunch of rides and watched the ice show which seriously brought me tears. It was so stinking good.

On Christmas Eve we always exchange pajamas and ornaments.

Which made the kids beg for just one more present. So, we obliged.

Then, the morning we had been waiting for finally arrived. The following are pictures of all the chaos that ensued.

An outfit change occurred for Brygit at some point in the morning.

And she finally got the weird lalaloopsy baby that poops charms for a bracelet she can wear. It was a magical day for everyone.

Oak Glen

Merry Christmas! I know this is where I post about our Christmas but while I was attempting to do so, I realized I had a blog post from a couple weeks ago that, somehow, never got posted. So, I will say that our Christmas was amazing. It always is which is why it's my favorite day of the year. And pictures are definitely coming but, instead of Christmas photos, here's a look at our day trip to Oak Glen in the fall.

One of my favorite places to visit in the fall is Oak Glen. We were able to head up there when Liam had a few days off for Veterans Day in November. It was freezing and it was amazing. We visited the petting zoo, the bakery and the park before heading back down the mountain. Did you know you can buy an apple burrito? It's a bit like heaven and a bit like an incredibly flaky apple pie all wrapped up like a burrito.

We ended our day with our annual picture at the park. We try to take this picture in the same pose we did 4 years ago. Brygit wasn't too thrilled about it but, sometimes, you just have to do what your mom forces you to do. For posterity's sake.

I almost didn't blog in November

I seriously can't believe we are about to enter the last month of
2015. November wins the award for the fastest month this year. But I'm still not giving completely up on blogging. I just have to play a little catch up before I get to post about Christmas and my favorite month of the year. So let's travel back to the end of October just for fun.

The weekend before Halloween I took the kids to our neighborhood harvest festival. They rode ponies, played games and enjoyed some fun bounce houses.

A few days later we carved pumpkins. I pretty much slaved over Brygit's but Liam was finally old enough to carve his almost by himself.

Then, the day the kids had been waiting for finally arrived. Brygit was Ariel this year and Liam was Luke Skywalker. They went trick or treating in our neighborhood with their cousins and got so much candy that we (I mean they) are still eating it all.

How we welcomed October

It's no secret that I love this time of year. It's also no secret that I kind of refer to this entire season as pre-Christmas. It's coming people!

We greeted October with an early trip to the pumpkin patch. The kids got attacked by/ fed these crazy goats, took a lot of pictures and picked their own mini pumpkins that have been sitting on our fireplace ever since.

Brygit has pink hair in these photos because we tried to temporarily dye her hair red to go with her Ariel Halloween costume. Only the temporary dye wasn't so temporary and she had pink hair for about a week.

This bunny loved Liam but wasn't paying Brygit the same attention.
