We finally took our first trip to Pretend City in Irvine. We have been wanting to take Liam for a while now and it definitely didn't disappoint. It's a children's museum that is set up like a child sized town. There are roads, stop lights, a grocery store, library, doctor and dentist offices, a beach with real sand, a marina, house, construction site, stage, art room, police and fire stations, post office, ATMs that give out play money and even a sushi restaurant. Everything is hands on and nothing is off limits. Liam was a little timid at first but he quickly warmed up and jumped right in.
He said his favorite part was fishing.
They had an area in the marina where you build your own boats then put them on the water and blow air at them to watch them float away.
He spent the most time working on building a wall at the construction site.
Brygit was pretty bored. There wasn't much for her to do but they did have areas set up in different places for babies to crawl around in if they are able.
They even had baby chickens on the farm.
There are tons of different cars all over the place for the kids to crash into each other out on the open road.
Every station has costumes as well but Liam wasn't too into that idea. I thought it was pretty cool, though. White coats at the doctor's office, rubber boots for fishing, you name it.
Liam loved all of the phones. Especially this one at the fire and police dispatch station. He was very serious about his work.
It was a very fun day including lunch at Ruby's and a trip to Ikea on the way home. I'm sure we will be going back once Brygit gets old enough to enjoy it.
