The fun didn't stop after Liam's birthday party. We pretty much celebrated all week despite the fact that Liam had some incredible tantrums this week. We wanted him to have a fun time and we wanted to celebrate him even when we felt like strangling him. On his birthday, Paul stopped by for an early lunch to watch Liam open his presents from us. That night Paul managed to get off work early (can you say miracle!?) and we went to dinner.
Liam took my camera again,
Brygit chewed on everything within reach,
and the servers brought Liam a little dessert and sang to him. He was a little unsure about the singing but he was positive he wanted that ice cream.
Then we went to Toys R Us and did the whole birthday club thing. They give you a crown (that I wore) and a balloon and they make an announcement over the speakers. We let Liam pick out a toy with some of his birthday money, as is our tradition.
Two days later we went to Disneyland and had "Breakfast with the Characters." We had reservations but they still made us wait and Liam was pretty impatient watching all of the cool characters inside the restaurant and not being able to go in.
But, we eventually made it in and we grubbed at the buffet while Liam got autographs and pictures with the characters. (Except for Stitch. Brygit and Liam were both in tears by the time Stitch left our table).
Then we begrudgingly did the honest thing and bought Liam his own annual pass since he is officially too old to get in for free.
Then we went in and had a blast. It was HOT and Disneyland, apparently, is no longer a tantrum free zone for us, so we had our moments but... it's Disneyland... we loved it.
We finished our trip by letting Paul Liam build his very own light saber!
Which, of course, means that each of Liam's older set of cousins gets a light saber at Great-Grandma's house.
P.S. Have I mentioned that my camera was dropped and my lens broke? Well, it did. Paul may have been responsible for it and he may have been talked into buying me a new, better one. I have never been so excited for a UPS delivery in my life!
